Welcome to the Laboratory of Cell Geometry in the Center for Cellular Construction at UCSF
Principal Investigator: Wallace Marshall
The goal of our lab is to understand the mechanistic origins of cell geometry
Cells are not just watery bags of enzymes, but can in fact form highly complex three-dimensional structures. The unifying interest of our lab is how cells solve geometry problems to build these complicated structures. We employ at integrated combination of imaging, genetics, "omics", image analysis, and modeling, to understand how cells solve such engineering problems as the regulation of organelle size and the self-organization of intracellular patterns.
